Evanston Citizens for Environmental Justice
In the summer of 2011, the Evanston Citizens for Environmental Justice will work to ensure that Veolia takes direct and immediate action to improve the quality of life of local residents. While we continue to believe that the current site is not an appropriate or acceptable location for a waste transfer station, we do recognize that it may ultimately require legislative action to force Veolia out of Evanston. Therefore, while we work toward our long-term objective, we will continue to be fierce advocates for local residents whose lives have been unduly impacted by Veolia's presence and practices, which do not abide by current standards for responsible business behavior.
